RSC Anderlecht is having a more than decent season so far, with a place in the top three in the Jupiler Pro League… and the Europa League. But what will happen after the winter transfer window?

Years of crossing the desert leave their mark. RSC Anderlecht supporters remember late departures that hurt the ambitions of RSC Anderlecht, notably that of Jérémy Doku sold to Stade Rennais in October 2020 (during the extended transfer window following COVID-19).

This season, Sporting is on the podium in the Jupiler Pro League, can legitimately dream of a national title – and therefore a first trophy since 2017 – as well as a good European run, since in the Europa League too, the Mauves are … thirds. They could therefore potentially advance directly to the round of 16 of the competition.

But all this could attract attention, especially for players such as Kasper Dolberg and Mario Stroeykens. If an offer arrives on the RSCA table, Olivier Renard will he know (and even: could he) say no? “There is no strict framework for the winter transfer window, there is flexibility”, affirms the sporting director of the Mauves in comments reported by the site Anderlecht-Onlineand held during a meeting with supporters.

“We MUST not sell, which is important. If we do not sell, we will probably be in the red for the 2024-2025 accounts,” specifies Renard. But sales that aren’t made this winter would be made, and probably for even more money, next summer.

Dolberg and Stroeykens could not be selected in the event of a gargantuan offer, hence Olivier Renard’s caution. “It depends on the profiles and the offer (…) but a priori, it is not our intention to let these two players leave in winter,” he reassures.
