We know that Eden Hazard left his mark on all the coaches who had the chance to manage him (except perhaps Carlo Ancelotti). Thierry Henry remained a fan.

Thierry Henry is currently without a position, after a successful stint at the head of the Espoirs team. He has not ruled out the idea of returning to service in the future (read here), but in the meantime, Sky Sports opened the memory box with him.

Asked about Eden Hazard, whom he of course knew in the national team when he was assistant to Roberto Martinez, Henry did not fail to pay tribute to the ex-captain of the Red Devils. “There are certain players who do what is asked of them in certain situations. But Eden hurt the opponent in any situation,” recalls Thierry Henry.

“The number of solo goals he scored…. right foot, left foot, turning around… a football apart. I would have paid to see this kind of play played,” enthuses Henry , who later defended Eden’s failed move to Real Madrid.

“He’s a lover of the game. He doesn’t want to worry, he just wants to play and then enjoy life on vacation with his family,” admits the former Devils assistant. “He always told himself that the day he was no longer good enough, he would quit, and that’s what he did.”

We remember: in the selection, we sometimes had the impression that the instruction was to “pass the ball to Eden” – and that is a bit of what the Red Devils are currently lacking. “Martinez had good tactics, but sometimes it was enough to do that to unlock situations,” concludes Thierry Henry.
