After 7 years at PSG, Kylian Mbappé packed his bags to join Real Madrid. A departure which left a big void and we thought that it would be filled by the arrival of a star during the summer. This ultimately was not the case, but PSG would have had the opportunity. Particularly with Marcus Rashford.
PSG therefore ended the summer transfer window with 4 recruits on the clock. However, no star has been recruited to make people forget Kylian Mbappéleft for Real Madrid. We thought that the capital club was going to strike hard for the Frenchman’s succession, but that ultimately wasn’t the case. However, there was no shortage of options…
Rashford proposed to PSG
Marcus Rashford could have been this replacement for Kylian Mbappé. The Telegraph thus makes it known that the player Manchester United would have been offered, via intermediaries, to PSG during the summer. This did not lead to anything concrete however as the capital club changed strategy to focus on younger players.
A long-standing interest
Before this summer of 2024, the PSG was already interested in Marcus Rashford. « Every club would like to have Rashford for free », admitted Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. Moreover, Julien Laurens had even reported a meeting between the Englishman’s brother and the management of PSG : « We know that his brother was in Paris in August and that he spoke with Luis Campos and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi ».
