At Standard, after three draws in a row in the league, the idea is to get back to winning ways this weekend against Ghent.
However, Ivan Leko will be faced with a recurring problem since the start of the season. The Croatian technician will have to find solutions in defense with new absences which will prevent him from renewing the same trio in central defense.
Defensive puzzle
As Rouches continue to struggle to score, it is obviously particularly important to be solid defensively. The headache is therefore big for the coach, who will have to use a different eighth trio since the start of the season.
We will obviously remember that Matthieu Epolo had been replaced by Arnaud Bodart, who was injured against Charleroi and who therefore had to give way again to his young teammate. The latter, however, did well and received positive reviews after the trip to Beerschot.
No reinforcements
As a reminder, after the reception of Ghent this Sunday in Sclessin, there will be a trip to Mechelen to conclude the year. It is against Kortrijk that the competition will resume at the beginning of January, with the hope that the defenders of the group will all be available for the resumption, even if the truce will be reduced to its simplest expression.
It will therefore be impossible to carry out in-depth work and there are no plans to strengthen during the winter transfer market. It is therefore once again the inventiveness of the coach which will have to make the difference.
