a meeting between players to decide the future of the Rangers general manager

We’ve been talking about it for weeks already, but things are going pretty badly in New York.

The Rangers traded their captain, Kaapo Kakko alienated his teammates and “Chris Kreider is still on the market.” You will understand a little later why I put my last words in parentheses. Is GM Chris Drury next to jump ship?

Apparently, the players held a meeting among themselves to determine the future of their general manager. I’ve never seen that. Neither does Pierre McGuire… Besides, he and Jimmy Murphy, on the podcast The Sick Podcast – The Eye Test, did not discuss the subject for too long due to lack of credibility.

This is still worth noting since Murphy says it’s a story that’s been circulating.

His colleague has never seen this. He says that a players’ meeting could take place to determine the future of their head coach, but not of their GM, all the same. Things are so bad in the Big Apple that even a former player of the team has poured out his heart.

Mike Rupp, who played for the Blue Shirts during the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 seasons, finds that there is – pardon the anglicism – bullshit surrounding the team.

These are unnecessary things that we don’t want to deal with and that make coming to the rink a chore because you look behind you every second. –Mike Rupp

The former forward, who played 609 games in the NHL, is not too in agreement with sending Kakko into the stands.

He finished by saying that he believes Chris Kreider’s name was intentionally leaked in order to get a response from the team. He doesn’t believe the Rangers actually intended to trade him. It’s a mess over there…

McGuire wouldn’t be surprised to see trades, especially if the club loses tonight against the Nashville Predators. Remember that a block of transactions will take place between December 20 and 27.
