Trey Samuel-Ogunsuyi, who made an excellent start to the season with Sunderland’s U21 team, could soon have a change of direction. Recently nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award, the young striker has attracted the attention of Liverpool, according to the Daily Mail.
The Reds are reportedly considering making an offer to secure the services of this promising talent. Last October, Samuel-Ogunsuyi scored a double against Liverpool U18s, a performance which would have left its mark and reinforced the interest of the club.
Statistically, the U19 international has displayed remarkable efficiency this season: eight goals and an assist in just seven appearances in all competitions. Among his exploits, a goal against Manchester City U21s and a double against Manchester United in Premier League 2.
A TOP TRANSFER BEFORE A LOAN?
A move to Liverpool would represent a major step for the young goalscorer, whose main aim until then had been to land a place in Sunderland’s first team. Such a departure could mark a turning point in his budding career. A loan to a slightly higher club would be under consideration in the event of a transfer.
