The president of the SPA for 13 years, Eliane Rigaux, 79, resigned from the association. After months of conflict with part of the board of directors who accused him of wanting to control everything, who degenerated until the appointment of a provisional administrator at the head of the association, a general meeting took place this Monday, December 16 to find a solution to the conflict.
Eliane Rigaux has sent a letter ahead of the general meeting, to announce his resignationas revealed South West. The historical president of the association confirms France Blue Périgord that she throws in the towel “save the shelter”after months of battle with his lawyers.
“For the good of the animals”
She says she will continue to dedicate her time to animals, but “in another structure” and possibly “outside the department”. She also says she filed a complaintfor comments reported to her and which she considers defamatory on the part of members of the association.
“They don’t want me anymore, I had better leave for the sake of the animals. They did everything to get me to leave, well I’m leaving”concludes Eliane Rigaux. His term was due to end in March 2025.
