After the WEC and the GT World Challenge Europe, it’s time for the 2024 ELMS season in statistics.
- Only one victory (Spa) went to Louis Delétraz, Robert Kubica and Jonny Edgar (Oreca 07 n°14 – AO by TF) this year in their quest for the LMP2 Drivers’ title. We have to go back to 2017, and the coronation of Memo Rojas and Léo Roussel (G-Drive), to find champions with only one victory over the season.
- The champion trio only signed one only pole position this yearduring his victory at Spa-Francorchamps. In 2021 and 2022, the titled drivers (Delétraz – Kubica – Ye and Delétraz – Habsburg) won without taking pole.
- Only one team won twice in LMP2 this year: Cool Racing with the Oreca 07 of Lorenzo Fluxa, Ritomo Miyata and Malthe Jakobsen in Barcelona and Portimão. Conversely, AF Corse (Perrodo – Vaxiviere – Rovera) and Richard Mille by TDS (Beche – Sales – Saucy) have accumulated two successes in Pro-Am.
- Louis Delétraz pins his third Drivers title after 2021 (with WRT) and 2022 (with Prema). He thus overtakes Nelson Panciatici and Paul-Loup Chatin, crowned in 2013 and 2014 with Signatech-Alpine.
- It is on the other hand the first Teams coronation for TF Sportin association with AO Racing. Tom Ferrier’s structure adds the ELMS to a list already including the British GT, the 24 Hours of Le Mans in GTE Am and the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup in Pro-Am.
- Second consecutive Pro-Am title for François Perrodo, Matthieu Vaxiviere in Pro-Am in ELMS, this time supported by Alessio Rovera on the No. 83 Oreca 07 – AF Corse.
- Giorgio Roda was very lively in Pro-Am qualifying, signing five of six possible pole positions this season with the Oreca 07 – Proton Competition). For a single success in the class with Jonas Ried and Bent Viscaal in Portimão.
- United Autosports completes a season without a victory in LMP2 for the first time since 2017.
- Inter Europol Competition, on the other hand, scored his first victory in LMP2 in ELMS at Paul Ricard, with Tom Dillmann, Vladislav Lomko and Sebastian Alvarez.
- Champion in 2023, Algarve Pro Racing was unable to defend its title in 2024, and has not signed a victory this season. The Portuguese team, however, took a first place in Pro-Am at Imola.
- 2024 marked the final season of LMP3 powered by the Nissan V8 unit. The Toyota turbo V6 engine will appear in 2025.
- Titled in 2018 with John Farano, Job van Uitert and Rob Garofall, RLR M Sport returned to the LMP3 title this year with Gaël Julien, Nick Adcock and Michael Jensen. Which ends the domination of Cool Racing in the category, winner in 2022 and 2023.
- This is the first time since the introduction of the LMP3 category in ELMS that a crew has won the title. with only one victory on the clock.
- Miguel Cristóvão and Manuel Espirito Santo only scored one victory in 2024 in LMP2 on their home turf of Portimão, but were the most in good spirits in qualifying with three poles.
- Lamborghini has won his first ELMS title in GT with the Hurricane GT3 EVO2 – Iron Lynx of Andrea Caldarelli, Axcil Jefferies and Hiroshi Hamaguchi.
- As in 2017, 2018 or even 2022, the GT champion is crowned with only one victory.
- The only pole position signed by the champion Lamborghini at Spa ended in … a retirement from the race. The only one of the year for the No. 63 Huracan.
- It is on the side of Kessel Racing that you have to look to find two victories in LMGT3 in 2024. To be credited to the #57 Ferrari 296 GT3 of Esteban Masson, Daniel Serra and Takeshi Kimura (Spa and Mugello).
- Three brands have scored a GT victory this year in ELMS: Ferrari (Formula Racing, Spirit of Race and Kessel Racing), Porsche (Iron Dames) and Lamborghini (Iron Lynx).
- If we exclude the Porsche – Iron Dames, operated by Proton Competition, Christian Ried’s team did not win in GT in ELMS in 2024. A first since 2021.
- With four polesSarah Bovy largely dominated the LMGT3 qualifying exercise with the Porsche 911 GT3 R – Iron Dames.
- Since 2020, only two teams have monopolized the GT title in ELMS: Iron Lynx (2021 and 2024) and Proton Competition (2020, 2022 and 2023).
