The only synthetic pitch is “very much in demand”

In addition to the overload linked to the use of sports grounds, there are also climatic hazards which make the management of this equipment increasingly complex.

« All land are already in high demand both for training and their increasingly complicated maintenance in order to

keep them in condition following very dry summers but also very rainy winters,” recognizes the man who is also mayor of the commune of Moisdon-la-Rivière.

“A feasibility study has been initiated,” continues the elected official. The objectives of the latter were to determine the municipality or municipalities likely to accommodate this equipment by taking into account the level of development of the clubs, of the sporting life area, in particular the existence of youth groups, women’s practice as well as the level of infrastructure of the equipment present around the field (changing rooms, parking, accessibility, etc.).

How much does it cost?

This study made it possible to identify four territories likely to accommodate such equipment: Moisdon-la-Rivière, Issé, Erbray and Soudan.

Each of these sites was the subject of an analysis taking into account criteria such as the state of the existing football fields, the lighting of the sites, the presence of changing rooms, the environment, the existence of parkingthe level of development of the clubs, the financial cost.

” The commune of Erbray appears to be the solution presenting the best

advantages with regard to these criteria,” says Patrick Galivel.

The cost ofThe operation is estimated at €1,512,000 including tax (All taxes included). The work will begin in May 2025 and will take place over five and a half months.

Why a synthetic pitch?

The choice of a synthetic pitch is not due to chance. Indeed, according to the elected official, “synthetic coatings indeed allow five times greater use than natural grassin all types of weather, while limiting maintenance and operating costs and thus offering an economical solution, and more homogeneous and quality playing conditions. »
