Stuart Skinner offered a goal on a silver platter to the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday.
At the start of the third period, the Edmonton Oilers goaltender was making a routine play behind his net, but he hesitated to get rid of the puck. That’s when he was surprised by Brett Howden.

Having put enough pressure on Skinner, the Knights forward easily rounded the empty cage to score after recovering the puck. Note that this was a numerical disadvantage for Vegas. Watch in main video.
Fortunately for the Oilers and particularly for Skinner, they still led this game by two goals after this blunder. Having taken a 5-0 lead, they nevertheless saw the Golden Knights score three times without reply.
Edmonton finally held on and won 6 to 3. Leon Draisaitl had a strong three-point game, including his 22e goal of the season by the way.
Connor Brown, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Darnell Nurse all had two points in the victory.
