Standard had a difficult weekend. After seeing a victory slip away in the final seconds against OHL due to a disputed goal, the Rouches now have to face another piece of bad news.
Calut’s private switchboard for many months
Already faced with defensive concerns before the match, Ivan Leko saw his task become even more complicated against OHL. After less than 30 minutes of play, Alexandro Calut had to leave the field on a stretcher, suffering a worrying injury while attempting a move.
Examinations carried out on Tuesday confirmed a serious diagnosis. According to The Last Hourthe defender suffers from a ruptured tendon in his left thigh and will have to undergo an operation in the coming days. His rehabilitation should last no less than four months.
Calut, struck again by bad luck
This new blow is a headache for Ivan Leko, who already has to deal with the absences of Nathan Ngoy and David Bates, also injured. The only bright spot for Standard is the return of Bosko Sutalo, who will be available next weekend after serving a suspension.
For Alexandro Calut, this injury is a real blow. At only 21 years old, the defender had already had a sleepless season last year due to a ruptured cruciate ligament, which prematurely ended his loan to OHL. Despite this long absence, he got another chance this season at Standard, where he has played ten games so far.
Bad luck continues to strike young Rouche, who will once again have to go through a long period of rehabilitation.
UPDATE 13/12 at 4:10 p.m.
Standard confirmed in a press release published this Friday afternoon that Alexandro Calut would miss more or less 16 weeks of competition.
“Our young left back was taken out on a stretcher last Saturday during the match against OHL. The examinations carried out unfortunately diagnosed a complete rupture of the proximal tendon of his left biceps femoris. The young Belgian was operated on this Friday and the duration of his unavailability is estimated at approximately 16 weeks. We wish Alexandro a good recovery.”
