In Naples, Romelu Lukaku hoped to be able to rediscover the same sensations as at Inter, when he had a great season alongside Antonio Conte.
But for the moment, the Belgian striker is not in his best form, even if as the Italian press analyzed, the whole club is lacking certain things to be able to dominate and win even more.
Lukaku too lonely?
The Partenopei must in particular create more scoring opportunities if they want to score any. With what is being asked of Lukaku by the coach, it is not possible that he will be both in the oven and in the mill and the club would therefore seek to strengthen itself during the winter transfer market.
According to Il Mattino, among the players who would be in the sights of the Italian club, there would be a former Anderlecht player. Having moved from Bologna to Manchester United, Joshua Zirkzee is struggling to find his place with the Mancunians and a departure in January cannot be ruled out.
A shock duo?
To get to the Dutchman, Victor Osimhen could be the key. Loaned to Galatasaray, his sale could bring in 75 million – while De Laurentiis wanted 130 during the summer – and this sum could be reinvested in the transfer of Zirkzee. Associated with Lukaku, he could form an attacking duo allowing Naples to shake opposing defenses.
For Big Rom, the key to success at Inter had been his association with Lautaro Martinez. The two players quickly found each other and wreaked havoc, coming close to winning the Champions League, ultimately losing to Kevin De Bruyne’s Manchester City.
