Former F1 driver, Jérôme d’Ambrosio continues to climb the ranks. The Belgian officially made his debut as Ferrari number 2 yesterday in Abu Dhabi.
Jérôme d’Ambrosio is now a pillar of the Ferrari team. The Belgian, who drove in F1 in 2011 and 2012, has not been a driver for several years now. He retrained in management and had no shortage of opportunities. First in Formula E, where he managed the Venturi team, before arriving in F1 at Mercedes, where he was the deputy of Toto Wolff, the big boss. He was also in charge of training young pilots.
But last October, the Belgian changed sides. Indeed, d’Ambrosio signed a contract with Scuderia Ferrari. He will occupy the same position, but with the Reds. He now finds himself second in the sporting hierarchy of the Italian team and will assist Fred Vasseur, with the mission, in particular, of bringing Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc together in 2025.
So far discreet, Jérôme d’Ambrosio made his first appearance on the Ferrari wall yesterday, during post-season testing in Abu Dhabi. Red shirt screwed on his body, he will now carry out one of the most important missions of his career.
