The doors opened in October 2024 and almost two months later it is already a success. The players of padel can benefit from a new space dedicated to this rapidly developing sport in the metropolitan area of Caen (Calvados), as elsewhere in Europe. R’Padel Arena in Carpiquet offers six fields and a club house very pleasant.
The score in holographs!
The little extra, compared to the many competitors, is mentioned by Emma de Barros, one of the managers:
We also stand out with two panoramic fields and a connected watch system to see the score in holography on the field glass!
The courts are therefore entirely glazed. R’padel arena also offers an application to reserve a court or participate in tournaments, alone or with friends.
The resort was built and is family run. Alongside Emma de Barros are Elisabeth de Barros and Faouzzi Hattab.
Padel booming, a long-term project
Let’s go back in time, a few years ago. In 2022, the padel is booming. There were then nearly 1,400 sites throughout France and many members wanted to get involved. The managers of the new Carpiquet complex then perceive the craze around this new sporting practice.
The concept is gaining momentum. After a benchmark and several studies, it took us a year and a half to set up the project.
To go from the idea to welcoming the first players, everything had to be built. “For the work, we fought body and soul and put our hands to work so that it would be open before winter. We were in full rush, until the final straight! “
