DAKAR (Senegal) – The final composition of the squads and groups of the Women’s Basketball League Africa (WBLA) was confirmed Thursday evening following a FIBA technical meeting held in Dakar.
The WBLA 2024 will see 12 teams, from eight African countries, compete for the right to be crowned champions on December 15 at the Marius N’Diaye gymnasium in Dakar.
The twelve teams were divided into three groups of four teams each.
Group A includes competition host AS Ville de Dakar, Al Ahly SC (Egypt), FAP (Cameroon) and MFM (Nigeria).
The teams in Group B are: Sporting Alexandria (Egypt), reigning African champions, APR (Rwanda), FBA (Ivory Coast) and CNSS (DR Congo).
Group C is made up of REG (Rwanda), Jeanne D’Arc (Senegal), Ferroviario de Maputo (Mozambique) and ASB Makomeno (DR Congo).
WBLA 2024 will take place December 6-15.
