For years, Barça has been juggling a financial situation. And in a very practical way, it complicates its affairs today to include Dani Olmo or Pau Victor in the squad from 2025. But the Catalan club has resources. According to Sport, Barça plans to activate a new financial operation to register its two players, while opening the possibility of other recruitments. The club will pre-market special VIP seats for the future Camp Nou over a 20-year period, which is expected to generate around €200 million in immediate revenue.
The 1-1 finally unlocked for Barça?
This initiative, similar to an operation carried out by Real Madrid, will allow Barça to enter into the 1-1 rule imposed by LaLiga, thus authorizing registrations and recruitments while respecting the salary caps. This strategy is in addition to the recently signed agreement with Nike, which extends their partnership until 2038 with a significant improvement in the terms of the contract. Although this agreement improved finances, it was not enough to enter into the 1-1 rule, hence the need to generate additional revenue. The advance sale of VIP seats, supported by partners like Goldman Sachs, has received the necessary authorization to move forward. Negotiations with potential buyers, notably a Qatari company, are underway and should be concluded before January 9, the date of the Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.
