Fishing in Tangier has become a worldly renowned sport, especially with the construction of the new Marina at the marina.

The last “Yockey Master” competition which attracted a varied number of foreign nationalities was a great success.

The Belgian duo composed of Florus Robby and Cole Bram won first place at the “Master Yuki Tanger Morocco International Sports Fishing Competition”, which took place on the beach of Tangier in two stages, organized by the Sport Fishing Association from Tangier.

Sport fishing in Tangier, in partnership with the Royal Moroccan Marine Sport Fishing Federation and under the supervision of the International Sport Fishing Federation (FIBS).

It was with the participation of 124 participants from five foreign countries, namely Spain, the Netherlands, Tunisia, Italy, , Brazil, Portugal and the Netherlands, in addition to Morocco , who participated with teams representing the regions of the national territory.

Over the course of two days, participants used all authorized means and techniques to catch as many fish as possible, meeting the standards approved by the organizing committee.

Given the strong competition between international champions who thanks to their advanced abilities and experience in this type of competition.

This international competition was organized for the first time outside the coasts of the Catalonia region of Spain.

A stimulating participation for local sport fishing champions, as they were able to do, despite the difficulties, differences, to meet the challenges and represent local sport fishing in an honorable manner in this competition which attracts the attention of world champions of sport fishing.

This distinguished edition saw Belgian duo Floris Ruby and Cole Bram take first place, while French champions Pierre Richard and Bruno Bayona (former world champion) came in second place.

As for the Moroccan duo Saïd Hammouri and Ibrahim Hakim, they came in third place.

For the Spanish team which was composed of the former world champion Juan Canovas, current vice-world champion, and Daniel Oliva, it won fourth place and the prize for the largest fish weighing 3,453.14 grams.

For the Tunisian couple Walid Hakim and Ahmed Karim Sayla, there is the prize of the second big fish 2478 grams ahead of the representatives of Belgium, champion of the current edition.

Regarding this competition, Mr. Juan Antonio Barreda, president of the Spanish Sport Fishing Federation and vice-president of the International Sport Fishing Federation (FIBS), expressed his great admiration for the tight and distinguished organization of the competition, and for the elegant atmosphere in which the tournament took place from its opening until after the distribution of prizes and the dinner ceremony, explaining that everything was pleasant and beautiful, and this motivates us to come back to organize another edition in Tangier .

In his statement to the newspaper after the closing of the competition, Mohamed Trighni, president of the Tangier Sport Fishing Association and president of the Moroccan Sport Fishing Federation, praised the great efforts made by the organizing committee, and explained that Tangier had succeeded with great distinction in hosting the largest international fishing championship as part of the city’s tourism marketing.

He also confirmed that the organizing committee had received praise from all delegations, the vice-president of the International Marine Sport Fishing Federation and the Yuki incubator. Foundation for Global Competition.
