The week, Anderlecht presented a more than satisfactory financial result, with a profit for Sporting for the first time in a long time.
Among the reasons that brought Anderlecht to these good results is the sale of talented young players. And this could continue for the Mauves with several profiles currently standing out. There is one who was trained at Neerpede and who is in the list of the most bankable young people in Europe.
In the European top
He has just celebrated his 20th birthday and made his professional debut with his training club in January 2021, at just 16 years old. Since then, Mario Stroeykens has continued to progress, his technique wreaking havoc offensively.
Also impressive physically, the midfielder could continue his career in a more upscale team than Anderlecht quite quickly. For the moment, no concrete avenue is mentioned for the one who is under contract until 2026.
Good financial transaction
The specialized site Transfermarkt estimates his value at 10 million euros and it continues to increase, which could allow Sporting to carry out a new very good financial operation when the player is sold.
For comparison, Zeno Debast was sold for €15.5 million to Sporting Portugal last summer. But Anderlecht also negotiated a good percentage on resale and it is therefore a lasting future that the Mauves are ensuring. With Stroeykens, it is conceivable to imagine a transfer of this order in the more or less near future.
In the meantime, the player must continue to progress and help his club in the various competitions in which he is involved. In particular, there is a round of 16 of the Belgian Cup which arrives this Thursday against Westerlo. The competition could allow Anderlecht to finally win a new trophy.
