The Serie A match between Fiorentina and Inter Milan had to be suspended on Sunday December 1st. The 22-year-old Italian, Edoardo Bove, collapsed on the pitch at the Artemio-Franchi stadium after 16 minutes of play, appearing to be in convulsions, causing astonishment throughout the stadium.
Fiorentina indicated via a statement that Edoardo Bove was under sedation in the intensive care unit of the Careggi hospital in Florence, where he arrived in a “condition”.stable“. “The first cardiological and neurological examinations made it possible to exclude serious lesions of the central nervous system and the cardio-respiratory system,” added the club in a joint press release with the hospital.
The midfielder, on loan from AS Roma, collapsed, under the horrified eyes of the other players, while Fiorentina and Inter were 0-0. The referee interrupted the match and the teams returned to the locker rooms. The Italian League then announced in a statement that the match was definitively stopped and would be rescheduled to “a date still undetermined“.
