It is a diminished FC Lorient which will travel to Amboise (Indre-et-Loire), Saturday (1:30 p.m.) to face US Monnaie (Regional 1), as part of the 8e round of the Coupe de France.

Olivier Pantaloni will notably have to cope without his striker Mohamed Bamba, who had surgery for a crack in his ankle at the start of the week. The Ivorian should therefore be away from the field for at least two and a half months. “I hope it will be operational by mid-February”estimated the technician this Thursday at a press conference.
Makengo absent for at least two weeks
For his part, Nathaniel Adjei, injured in the ankle with his selection of Ghana during the international break, will take additional exams, but “this seems complicated”breathes Pantaloni. The defender, who currently walks on crutches, will not play again, at a minimum, by the end of 2024.
Jean-Victor Makengo (strain) will return, “at best against Paris FC”mid-December. He will therefore miss the Coupe de France match as well as the match against Troyes at Moustoir (December 7).
Also note that Sambou Soumano (knee), absent from training for several days, will resume with the group at the start of next week.
Finally, Formosa Mendy has been complaining about his thigh since the international break. Already missing in Bastia last weekend, the Senegalese is uncertain. “There is nothing very worrying, but there is some discomfort”notes Pantaloni.
Kroupi should play again for a few minutes this weekend
On the good news side for the coach, the return to collective training this week of Junior Kroupi, after several weeks of absence due to a thigh injury. FCL’s top scorer should play a few minutes again this weekend.
