Despite the return of the Champions League, Deco, sports advisor to FC Barcelona, is working behind the scenes to recruit the next reinforcements for the Spanish club. Latest target, a promising full-back from Rayo Vallecano.
FC Barcelona would like to recruit a double for Jules Koundé. The French side does not really have a replacement in this team, except the young Hector Fort (18 years old) capable of helping out on the right and left, as he did against Celta de Vigo (2- 2) and against Stade Brestois (3-0) in recent days.
But this option does not seem to be sufficient in the eyes of Déco, Barça’s sports advisor. According to Sports Worldthe former Portuguese player would like recruit a right back to replace Koundé, and he would have set his sights on Andrei Ratiu, who plays at Rayo Vallecano.
The 26-year-old Romanian could indeed have a change of scenery this summer. He would be targeted in particular by a few European clubs including Bayer Leverkusen, SSC Napoli, AS Roma and even Tottenham and has a market value estimated at €4M by TransferMarkt.
However, Barça would have a slight advantage over its competitors. Ratiu has the same agents as Pedri, and this fact could make it easier for the Romanian to transfer to Barcelona. Moreover, during their discussion, Deco and the player’s representatives also raised the question of an extension of Pedri, under contract until June 2026.
