Neither in the first nor in the last, but Rainearii Rota is an accomplished athlete who has participated in marathons for years and triathlons for 3 years. Not just any ones, the Ironmans, the most difficult. Her first was in Cozumel, Mexico, on Sunday, where she finished in the middle of the table.
1:21:50 p.m. is the time recorded last Sunday by Rainearii Rota during the Cozumel Ironman in Mexico, a triathlon where of course, only the best take part.
Over the 3.4 km swim, she took 1h17,
on the 180 km bike ride, 7h06 and 34 seconds,
and over the 42 km of running 4h41 and 46 seconds.
You should know that the average time of women in a marathon is 4 hours 42 minutes and 9 seconds.
No doubt, Rainearii is not one to drag his feet. Moreover, her mother Moea says that the passion of her daughter, who has lived in Mexico for more than 15 years, “it’s running.”
So like Forrest Gump, Rainearii Rota has always been running. But she’s really been doing it since “5 years in a more serious way”she says.
To the point to have registered for 2 major marathons out of the 6 recognized as such around the world, namely New-York en 2021(4h12) et Berlin in 2024 (4h06).
According to specialists, women who manage to go under four hours are faster than 80% of women. There is no doubt that Rainearii will reach the milestone shortly.
In the meantime, multidisciplinary events are currently in his sights. From “3 years since I started with triathlon with several sprint and Olympic competitions. Last year I did 2 Ironman 70.3 (total distance of the race in miles, or 113 km which correspond to half the distance of a Ironman) in Mexico”specifies the sportswoman.
But although she has been swimming, cycling and running for years in this Central American country, her heart still beats for Polynesia.
