The national Football team arrived on Wednesday evening in Franceville, where it will face its counterpart from Gabon on Friday for the fifth day of the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations (CAN) which will take place on December 21, 2025. until January 18, 2026 in Morocco.
On arrival at M’Vengue El Hadj Omar Bongo Ondimba airport, the national team delegation was welcomed by the Moroccan Ambassador to Gabon, Abdellah Sbihi, in the presence of members of the Gabonese Football Federation , as well as members of the Kingdom’s embassy.
Morocco, already qualified for CAN-2025 as host country, is placed in group B alongside Gabon, Central Africa and Lesotho.
Morocco leads its group with 12 points, while Gabon occupies second place with seven points ahead of the Central African Republic (3 points). Lesotho, already eliminated, is ranked fourth with just one point.
For the last two days of the CAN qualifiers, national coach Walid Regragui called on 26 players.
