Lausanne announces the signing of striker Raphael Prassl. The 26-year-old arrives from Davos and has signed a two-year deal with the Lions.

A versatile forward, a product of the Zurich team, Prassl has a league title with Zurich in 2018. He joined Davos in 2021. He only played 34 matches last season for a meager record of 5 points (one goal). But in 2021/22, he had scored 21 points (8 goals) in 48 matches.

Sarault will help Emond

Fribourg announced for its part that it has signed Canadian Yves Sarault for a year. The 51-year-old Quebecer will be one of Patrick Emond’s two assistants with Pavel Rosa.

After a playing career in several National League clubs, Yves Sarault joined Lausanne in 2014 to take care of the elite juniors. He had been interim coach for a few months between 2017 and 2018 with the first team of the LHC. He then coached Visp, then Langnau and finally Sierre in the Swiss League.

Niku to Kloten

Kloten is strengthening its defense. The Zurich club has signed 27-year-old Finnish attacking defender Sami Niku for a year.

Drafted in the 7th round by Winnipeg in 2015, Niku shone in the AHL in 2018, but he never managed to make his mark in the best league in the world. He finished his North American journey in Laval in the Montreal Canadiens farm club in 2022.

Returning to Finland, he played for JYP for two seasons, but finished last season at Ilves Tampere. He scored 49 points (12 goals) in 53 games.
