In her defense, the thirty-year-old spoke of prostitution as a profession of which she is not ashamed. “She does this job and it’s this one, Ms. Alice Dallemagne pleaded. We are very far from the usual networks that we encounter in this type of trial. There can be no question of human trafficking. These are women who work together, who help each other. Certainly my client took care of the placement and writing of advertisements for others, but from there to add the aggravating circumstance of association.”

The court radically overturned the first judgment considering that there was no trafficking in human beings, an accusation which implies the exploitation of others, that a big doubt should benefit the accused as to the holding of ‘a debauched outfit which is defined by the organization of prostitution in order to obtain an abnormal advantage from it, that personal prostitution as such was not a crime.

Only the publication of advertisements of a sexual nature was held against her.

The defendant was sentenced to six months in prison and a fine of €1,200, with a total suspension of two years for the entire sentence. Foreign cash seized will be returned to him.

The husband escapes a very heavy sanction

Her husband, who only recognizes his role as driver between Zaventem airport and their home, was sentenced to 20 months in prison and €41,000 in fines and costs. The court drastically revised the default judgment and acquitted the 41-year-old man.
