Former Elite cyclist, Steven Le Hyaric, has set himself a major new challenge: to connect Paris-Himalaya on his bike, with the sole strength of his legs.
Steven Le Hyriac is preparing to take on a new challenge: to cycle between 13,000 and 15,000 kilometers, from Paris to Nepal, before attempting to climb Manaslu, one of the peaks of the Himalayas, the all without oxygen and without assistance. A journey that is enough to make you dizzy: it represents more than 100,000 meters of elevation gain, days of 17 to 18 hours of cycling. A means of transport that revolutionized the life of this adventurer: “Lhe bike has been a means of expression, my means of surpassing myself. I decided to make a career out of adventure, surpassing myself, traveling by bike. This can range from crossing the Himalayas to a Paris-Dakar by bike, a Lhasa-Kathmandu and afterwards, a Kilimanjaro record by bike.he says.
The thirty-year-old, from the Paris suburbs, is not his first attempt. Over the years, he has multiplied extreme adventures. For this athlete, the chosen pain becomes an ally in his challenges, even if he admits that the intense effort is more bearable than a hair removal session: “When you are an athlete, I think you have a distortion of the sensation of pain. We have a deep acceptance and rejection of pain because we have gotten used to it, but obviously, I am deformed compared to a normal person. I think I have more trouble getting my legs waxed than cycling 500 kilometerssmiles this enthusiast. But I hate the pain I suffered, I love the pain I chose.”
