The French men’s volleyball team will begin the defense of its Olympic title on July 28 against Serbia (5 p.m.) at the Arena Sud in Paris, Porte de Versailles. The Olympic tournament schedule unveiled Tuesday then sends Les Bleus (Group A), winners of the Nations League on Sunday, against the Canadians on July 30 (9 p.m.) and then Slovenia on August 2 (5 p.m.).

The top two in each of the three groups and the two best third-placed teams qualify for the quarter-finals.

The opening match will see Japan take on Germany on July 27 (Group C, 9 a.m.), followed (1 p.m.) by a Group B clash between reigning world champions Italy and three-time Olympic champions Brazil (most recently in 2016).
