The fourth edition of the Garo’run left its mark. On Sunday, September 29, nearly 650 runners walked the banks of the Garonne around the Maison de la Garonne in Boé, under radiant sunshine and in a festive atmosphere.
The Garo’run, from now on, is essential. The event brought together, for its 2024 edition, not only participants from Lot-et-Garonne but also runners from neighboring departments such as Tarn-et-Garonne and Gers.
A solidarity commitment always at the heart of the event
Placed under the sign of Pink October, this 4th edition has once again highlighted the values of solidarity which define the Garo’run. The presence of Lyse, a young resident of Boé affected by the disease, particularly moved the participants and spectators, bringing a human and warm dimension to this sporting event.
An evening of thanks and announcements
This Friday, November 22, the Toyota Agen dealership, premium partner of the event, welcomed the volunteers, partners and organizers of the Garo’run to its premises. During this friendly evening, the organizing team presented new recruits ready to strengthen an already well-knit group of volunteers.
This evening also made it possible to present two checks, fruits of the efforts of the runners of this 2024 edition. The first was given to Action Cancer 47, loyal beneficiary, and the second to a brand new local association, MOBI’LYSE, which will extend the committed solidarity work.
A half marathon for 2025
The key announcement of the evening was undoubtedly the creation, for 2025, of a half-marathon which will enrich the sporting options offered. This new feature promises to attract even more participants, thus confirming the rise of this event.
The organizers are already meeting on Sunday September 28, 2025 for a fifth edition which promises to be intense and festive, with the promise of maintaining this sporting spirit combining competition and solidarity commitment.
