The journalist who was called “stupid” by Kevin De Bruyne after France-Belgium (1-0) at the Euro, responded on his X account.

The heated exchange continued on social media. After Belgium’s 1-0 defeat against France, Kevin De Bruyne allowed himself, as he was leaving the mixed zone, to quietly call a journalist “stupid”. The fault was a question about the clean record of the “golden generation” of the Red Devils. But the journalist in question, Tancredi Palmeri, reacted on his X account (Twitter). And not without vehemence.

“Ahah De Bruyne just called me stupid. Hey Kevin, a little memo for you. The golden generation of France, England, Germany and Spain have all reached a final! Another footballer who only wants questions that tell him how good he is. Spoiled child,” replied the reporter from the Italian channel SportItalia.

“He didn’t have the courage to tell me to my face. (…) Money can’t buy courage,” he also lashed out in another message.

Kevin De Bruyne, before getting angry with this journalist, still took the time to answer a few questions: “Too bad, the plan was there. We knew they (the Blues) were strong. It’s a shame to concede a goal like that. (…) The coach had put a plan in place to play in the spaces. We had some good moments and we defended well as a team. We wanted to win. We were five minutes from extra time. The will was there during the four matches but we are eliminated, it’s a shame”.

The 33-year-old playmaker also agreed to answer a question about his future with the national team. “It’s too early to say,” he said, however, leaving doubts still hanging over the rest of his international career.
