The Columbus Blue Jackets are reportedly on the verge of trading defenseman David Jiricek.

On Monday, Daily Faceoff hockey expert Frank Seravalli said a trade involving the 20-year-old was imminent.

“The Blue Jackets are still going through the evaluation process. I think they have five to six credible offers on the table that they’re looking at. This should materialize in the next 24 to 48 hours,” he said on Sportsnet 650.

Jiricek was selected by Columbus with the sixth overall pick in the 2022 draft. Since then, he has yet to be able to establish himself full-time in the National League.

In 53 career games in the Bettman league, the right-handed guard hit the target once and provided 10 assists for 11 points. This season, he was in the Blue Jackets lineup for only six games.
