Patrick Cantlay and Cam Davis finally absent in Illinois

The best player on paper in the John Deere Classic field, Patrick Cantlay will not play in the tournament. Cam Davis also missed out.

There was supposed to be a player from the world’s top 20 at TPC Deere Run This week, there will ultimately be none. Due to an injury, Patrick Cantlay has gone out of the field of John Deere Classicwon last year by Sepp Strakawho will be there to defend his title. The current ninth in the world has been replaced by the Scot Russell Knox.

It must be said that this John Deere Classicjust like the Rocket Mortgage Classic last week, is stuck between three weeks of madness with theUS Open surrounded by two Signature Events and two tournaments in Europe (Genesis Scottish Open et The Open) mid-July.

Cam Davis skips out

Winner on the wire this Sunday on the Detroit Golf Club, Cam Davis also withdrew on Monday. He allowed his compatriot Cody Gribble to enter the field. More anecdotally, Taylor Montgomery also gave way to the Chinese Zecheng Dou.

As a reminder, two French players will be present from Thursday on this par 72 of 6665 meters: Martin Trainer et Paul Barjon. Both men clearly missed the point. Rocket Mortgage ClassicThey will try to get back on track this week as they are left behind at the FedEx Cupranked 124th and 171st respectively.
