A tense end to the match and a late outcome, inevitably cruel for the defeated. This Monday, July 1, in Düsseldorf, the football players of the French team dominated those of Belgium, in the 8th finals of Euro 2024.

A sluggish, narrow victory, by the smallest of margins: 1-0. The goal was scored in the 86th minute, on an own goal. Following a missed shot by Randal Kolo Muani in the penalty area, it was the Red Devils defender, Jan Vertonghen, who scored the only goal of the match.

Kylian Mbappé, like his teammates, celebrated this goal by Kolo Muani. However, with a little extra salt addressed, precisely, to Jan Vertonghen. The Bondynois in fact rushed towards the defender, all ashamed of the own goal, to tease him forcefully.

The reason? A few minutes before (71st), the players had had a verbal argument. A verbal spat, faces close together, after the French striker collapsed to the ground following a lost ball, while he was trying to attack. An attitude which, it seems, did not go down well with the Belgian defender.
