100 million euros in sales, OL fires three players – Olympique Lyonnais

Last week, OL presented themselves in front of the DNCG and promised a lucrative summer with nearly 100 million euros in sales. An ambitious but achievable objective in the eyes of John Textor, because several players are popular on the transfer market this summer.

A year after selling Bradley Barcola and Castello Lukeba for a fortune, John Textor is once again planning to make big sales in the transfer window. But this time, the president of Olympique Lyonnais is not being forced or constrained by the DNCG since he himself presented this plan to the financial watchdog of French football. A way, no doubt, to reassure the body and avoid sanctions from it, as was the case twelve months ago. Among the supporters, we are still wondering how John Textor is going to recover such a sum, without weakening the team too much.

To achieve his goal, the Eagle Football boss is counting in part on the market value of three players who are highly rated in England, where clubs are willing to pay large transfer fees. According to information from the insider account West Ham Central, three OL players are in the Hammers’ sights with a view to the summer transfer window. Unsurprisingly and as mentioned elsewhere, Jake O’Brien is highly sought after in England. Crystal Palace’s interest has been known for a long time and West Ham’s interest is confirmed since the Hammers really appreciate the Irish defender, whose transfer is « probable » according to WHC.

Caqueret, Cherki and O’Brien targeted in England

Two other Rhone players are targeted by West Ham: Maxence Caqueret and Rayan Cherki. As for the first mentioned, he is one of the players monitored by West Ham but he has many suitors. Excellent news for OL, who should be able to raise the bids to recover a significant sum from his transfer. Rayan Cherki is also in West Ham’s sights. With one year to go until the end of his contract, the French U21 international will allow Lyon to replenish its coffers and the English competition will also have the merit of raising the bids a little, even if it is much more likely to see Rayan Cherki sign for PSG or Borussia Dortmund.

`In any case, these interests in England will clearly play into John Textor’s hands and will contribute in part to reaching the objective set by the OL president, even if it will be difficult to reach 100 million euros in sales with just these three players.
