Nicknamed the “king of clay”Rafael Nadal has won no less than 92 titles during his career, including 22 Grand Slam titles. And that’s not all: he is officially one of the four players selected by the Spanish Tennis Federation to participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. His free time? The athlete spends it enjoying the sun in one of his two seaside villas or aboard his superyacht.

The port oasis in Mallorca

When he’s not on the court, Rafael Nadal likes to be near the water. His main residence is in Porto Cristo, a charming fishing village on the Spanish island of Mallorca. The property sits on 1.7 hectares of land overlooking the crystal-clear harbor where the tennis player keeps his catamaran. The athlete acquired the original Majorcan stone villa about a decade ago. In 2019, shortly after his marriage to Maria Francisca Perellò, he commissioned Majorcan architect Tomeu Esteva to demolish the old building and build his dream home, according to the Majorca Daily BulletinThe result? An elegant and tranquil oasis, located right next to the harbor and featuring an infinity pool, large windows and several terraces.

The Beach House in the Caribbean

As previously reported, Rafael Nadal has an affinity for the ocean. His second home is a €2 million beach villa located in Playa Nueva Romana, a Caribbean paradise in the Dominican Republic. The tennis star acquired the two-story residence in 2012, around the time he was breaking records by winning his seventh French Open title and his 11th major title overall. Nestled in a sprawling development, the home features three bedrooms, a modern kitchen, a private pool, and access to a country club, beach club, tennis courts, golf course, and private marina.

Owning a property near the ocean wasn’t enough for Rafael Nadal. He also needed to own a property on the ocean. The tennis champion spends much of his time off the court sailing his 24-metre Sunreef Power catamaran, named Great White. The sleek superyacht was built entirely to measure with a contemporary aesthetic, an open flybridge with a bar and barbecue, an aft garage for jet skis and 360 square metres of living space, according to Boat InternationalRafael Nadal’s passion for boating comes from his father, with whom he used to travel around the island of Mallorca on a motorboat. When he’s not at sea, he parks his catamaran in Porto Cristo, right in front of his house.
