Race to maintain: DSM and Arkea refuel during the weekend

Behind the magic of a victory in the Tour de France, there are also many issues, such as the race to remain in the World Tour. Vital for all the structures concerned, it has therefore been logically present in the background since the start of the Grande Boucle.

And while the small teams could logically expect to suffer, two of them made an impression. Namely Team DSM Firmenich Post NL and Arkea B&B Hotels.

Two formations which were full during the opening weekend of the Tour in Italy, and which according to the calculations of our partners of First Cyclingare at the top of the UCI cumulative ranking for the event.

Indeed, if Arkea scored 300 points, DSM already has 385, or 125 points more than the entire Grande Boucle version 2023. A boon for these two structures, which are chasing Cofidis positioned ahead of them in the ranking. And unfortunately for the northerners, they have still not scored a single point since leaving Florence.

Special mention to Uno-X also, who with 150 points continues on its momentum of the last few weeks, and can still dream of participating in this race for survival. Or rather for promotion considering its situation.
