Strong decisions were taken this weekend and ratified this Monday morning, at CSBJ rugby. Pascal Papé, who has held the roles of sports director and manager of the first team since the summer of 2023, is no longer at the helm of the 11th National.
The heavy defeat in Rouen (46-0) on November 15, the seventh in eleven days and the second zero point after Périgueux on September 28 (34-0), was the starting point for change. As revealed on our site Thursday evening, all the players called two meetings last week, one with their staff on Monday, the other with the president, Henri-Guillaume Gueydan, on Thursday afternoon.
The latter had left the weekend to reflect and discuss calmly with all parties before making his decisions.
A quartet named until the end of the season
Besides Papé, Grégoire Pintiaux is excluded from the professional staff. The forwards coach had been in post since the spring of 2021 and his arrival from Nevers (Pro D2), where he held, among other things, the role of assistant forwards coach. The Northerner was initially supposed to collaborate with Jean-Henri Tubert, before the latter was sacked during the season. Pintiaux then worked for two seasons with Sébastien Tillous-Borde, before the recruitment of Sébastien Bouillot in the spring of 2023 as three-quarter coach. The latter no longer holds this role since Monday.
Without Papé, Pintiaux or Bouillot, it is with a quartet at their head that the Ciel et Grenat returned to training at the start of the week. David Attoub and Aurélien Diotallevi take care of the forwards. Gabiriele Lovobalavu and Bastien Guallar are in charge of three-quarters. The latter were already present on the staff and are in charge of preparing the match of the 12e day against Tarbes (12e ), this Saturday (6:30 p.m.), a decisive meeting in the race to remain in the National.
