Houssem Aouar continues to impress in the colors of Al-Ittihad. Returning from injury, the Algerian international scored a decisive goal in his team’s 2-0 victory against Al-Fateh in the 11th day of the Saudi Pro League. This success allows Al-Ittihad to consolidate its first place in the ranking with 30 points, two units ahead of Al-Hilal, the reigning champion.

The match, played at the King Abdullah Sports City stadium in Jeddah, saw the Saudi club dominate thanks to a strong collective performance. The Brazilian Fabinho opened the scoring in the 58th minute after a great collective action. Aouar, starting after his convalescence period, sealed the victory by scoring a superb goal in added time, in the 90th minute. On a quick counter-attack, he perfectly exploited a precise cross to deceive the opposing goalkeeper with a subtle gesture, adding a touch of class to his performance.

This winning return confirms the rise in power of the former Olympique Lyonnais player, who is fully flourishing in the Saudi championship. Since his arrival, Aouar has displayed impressive consistency, contributing not only with his goals but also with his playing intelligence and his impact in key moments. Thus, Fennec now has 6 goals and 2 assists in 10 appearances in the Saudi championship.

A strong performance which comes in a context of strong competition within the Saudi Pro League, reinforced by the arrival of many renowned players. Aouar, however, manages to stand out thanks to his talent and his constant involvement on the pitch.

For the Algerian national team, Aouar’s return to form is excellent news. His versatility and ability to make the difference in crucial moments make him a valuable asset for Vladimir Petkovic’s group. With performances like this, Houssem Aouar proves that he still has a lot to offer, whether at club or with the Fennecs.
