FC Barcelona are still determining their targets for the summer transfer window, which opens in Spain at midnight.
There are links with many players, some with more intensity than others. This is the case with Joshua Kimmich and Dani Olmo, who play for Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig respectively.
Kimmich, currently at the Euros with his country, is highly regarded by Hansi Flick, who managed him during his successful spell at Bayern Munich. As for Olmo, he is highly regarded by sporting director Deco and is an option to strengthen Barcelona’s options on the left wing.
Two new recruits at City?
FC Barcelona may not have the opportunity to recruit either of these players, as according to English reports (via Sport), Manchester City are interested in Kimmich and Olmo. The combined operations would be worth £100 million, leaving the Catalans with little chance of competing.
At this stage, Kimmich and Olmo do not appear to be prime targets for Barcelona, with Nico Williams, Luis Diaz and Amadou Onana/Mikel Merino looking better placed. Ultimately, the club’s financial situation will determine what business it can do in the coming weeks.
