Slightly injured in the knee, Victor Wembanyama has not played for three matches. When will he return to the courts? Here's the latest update.
It's been a week since we last saw Wemby on the NBA floor. One week and three games away, against Dallas, Oklahoma City and Utah. The fault is a contusion on his right knee (suffered in the match against the Lakers last Friday) which forces him to remain on the sidelines for the moment. Nothing serious, we reassure you, but caution is required in San Antonio with the French phenomenon.
Obviously, the more the duration of absence increases, the more we wonder when he will be able to return. The young coach Mitch Johnson – who is currently replacing Gregg Popovich – has just provided some small details on Victor's state of health (via the San Antonio Express-News).
“I don’t know exactly when (he will return), but very soon. This is going in the right direction for him and Devin Vassell (also affected in the knee, editor's note), they are training on the floor. You just need final authorization.”
No specific date therefore, but a return which looks imminent for Victor Wembanyama.
#Spurs notebook: Wemby, Vassell expected to return “really soon,” Johnson says…Barnes making most of increased scoring opportunities…Bassey delivers again with career highs for minutes and blocks.https://t.co/Tto5uLvsrG

The Spurs' next game is scheduled for Saturday night against Golden State at home, before a trip to Utah next Tuesday. There is a chance that Wemby will reunite with his teammates in one of these two games.
If San Antonio shows a positive record without Wembanyama (2 wins – 1 loss), there is no doubt that the French giant is missed by Spurs fans, and by us too at the same time.
