The Edmonton Oilers have lost the services of forwards Zach Hyman and Viktor Arvidsson.
Hyman, however, avoided a major injury and will be out four to seven days. He will miss Thursday’s game against the Minnesota Wild and Saturday’s game against the New York Rangers. The Oilers are then on leave until November 29.
After an extraordinary 54-goal season last year, Hyman was off to a slow start this season. He has only three goals and five assists in 20 games.
For his part, Arvidsson will be on the injured list after missing his team’s last four games. The Swede also had a difficult start to the season with five points in 16 games.
Kent Johnson returns to action Thursday
The Blue Jackets have removed forward Kent Johnson from the injured list, the club announced Thursday morning. He will be available to play in the evening against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Johnson hasn’t played since Oct. 17 due to a shoulder injury. He practiced with the team for the first time last week.
The 22-year-old scored two goals and three assists in four games before getting injured. Last season, he had six goals and 16 points in 42 games.
Bernard-Docker remplace Hamonic
Ottawa Senators head coach Travis Green told reporters that defenseman Jacob Bernard-Docker will return to the lineup Thursday night against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Travis Hamonic will be removed from the lineup, while Linus Ullmark will be the starting goalie.
Bernard-Docker last played on November 5 and has two points in nine games this season.
Ullmark has a .884 save percentage and a 2.99 goals-against average in 11 games this season.
Caggiula recalled to Edmonton
The Edmonton Oilers have recalled forward Drake Caggiula from the Bakersfield Condors of the American League.
The 30-year-old has one assist in two games this season with the big club, in addition to five goals and nine points in 11 games at the AHL level.
This is his second stint in Edmonton, having played three seasons with the team from 2016 to 2018.
