The Laval Rocket wanted to continue their success at Place Bell on Wednesday, but Devon Levi and the Rochester Americans spoiled their plans.
A goal by Lukas Rousek on a breakaway with less than a minute remaining in overtime gave the visitors a 2-1 victory. Despite the setback, the Canadian subsidiary added a 25th point in the standings this season.

Rousek sped alone towards goaltender Jakub Dobes, who he beat by slipping the puck between his pads. The winners, who outshot 39-27, lost twice at home to the Rocket earlier this month.
It was Florian Xhekaj who scored the only goal for the Laval club. He beat Devon Levi, demoted by the Buffalo Sabers a few days ago, on a breakaway during a numerical penalty in the first period.
The celebrations were short-lived, because less than a minute later, Brett Murray created the deadlock when his pass deflected off William Trudeau’s skate into the Rocket net.
Transferred to the American League for conditioning purposes this week, Rafaël Harvey-Pinard had a quiet match. He concluded with two shots on his record.
If fans of offensive games were little spoiled, those preferring punches found what they wanted in the third period when Jared Davidson and Tyson Kozak exchanged several lines, to the great pleasure of the crowd.
The Rocket will return to action by delivering a home-and-away series to the Belleville Senators. They will travel to Laval on Friday, before welcoming coach Pascal Vincent’s squad the next day.
