Gold Coast native Elvis Smylie leads the competition with a card of 65 (-6). His performance was marked by eight birdies, two bogeys and a bunker exit on the 9th hole. This result allows him to be one unit ahead of his pursuers. “Playing close to home, on a course that I know well, is a definite advantage”he said, adding that the greens were in excellent condition despite the weather conditions.
