Club Brugge could lose its striker in January!

Club Brugge appears to be facing a relatively calm winter in terms of transfers, with the current squad well equipped to be competitive on several fronts. However, the Blauw and Zwart may have to anticipate some departures.

For example, Ferran Jutgla could close the doors of the Jan Breydel stadium behind him. The 25-year-old striker is a young product of FC Barcelona. With the Catalan superpower, he showed great things in the youth selections. But Jutgla didn’t go further than a few appearances with the first team. So he decided to explore other options.

In the summer of 2022, Club Brugge made him a tempting offer, which included participation in the Champions League. An offer that the player accepted. For the modest sum of 5 million euros, he was finally bought from the Spanish superpower. And Jutgla wasted no time in making people talk about him.

A severe relapse after a fanfare start

During his first months at Bruges, the striker immediately established himself as one of the club’s leaders. He also impressed at European level. But Jutgla then struggled to continue his momentum. In addition, in Bruges, he had to face increasingly strong competition at the striker position.

So, in his second season, he had to recognize the superiority of Igor Thiago. This season, Jutgla is in the shadow of Gustaf Nilsson, while coach Nicky Hayen increasingly chooses Romeo Vermant’s card. If the Spaniard can also play in other positions, he does not have the preference.

Return to League

It must be said that the attacker is no longer performing as well as should guarantee him a starting place. It could therefore be that the club and the player separate. The Spanish daily Diario Sport goes even further by estimating that Jutgla could look elsewhere as early as January. He would be ready to return to Spain.

Estadio Deportivo claims that Jutgla can also count on interest from Sevilla FC. The Andalusian club would not be satisfied with their current attackers Isaac Romero and Kelechi Iheanacho and would see the Club player as an interesting alternative. We do not yet know the exact price of the player.
