It’s been a year since Guillaume Gillet was without a club. Anderlecht always remains in the back of his mind.

After 328 matches in Purple and White (62 goals and 39 assists), it was at Anderlecht that Guillaume Gillet had his first two experiences as a coach.

Following his last stint as a player for Waasland Beveren, the Liégeois joined Felice Mazzu’s staff at Lotto Park. When he left, Gillet then became coach of the RSCA Futures in D1B.

“It went well. It gave me a taste for coaching. It’s up to me to find a good project and come back the day I’m ready. I’m ambitious,” explains to RTBF the man who has been looking for a new challenge ever since.

Guillaume Gillet wants to become head coach

A new collaboration with Sporting is obviously one of the options: “Return to Anderlecht is a goal. In the short or medium term, but in another role. Returning to this club that gave me everything as head coach would be a dream.”

Guillaume Gillet is still in contact with the club: “I recently returned to Anderlecht, but to speak with the director of the youth school because my son plays there. We particularly discussed my future.”
