The Montreal team would have the best core of players under the age of 24 in the entire National Hockey League (NHL), according to an annual list from the TSN network.
The CH is ahead of the San Jose Sharks, the Detroit Red Wings, the New Jersey Devils and the Minnesota Wild in the standings.
Forwards Cole Caufield and Ivan Demidov are the two best players in this age group and receive an AA rating. The very first pick of the 2022 draft Juraj Slafkovsky, defensemen Lane Hutson and Kaiden Guhle as well as promising goaltender Jacob Fowler receive the A rating.
With a B rating, forwards Michael Hage and Joshua Roy as well as guards Logan Mailloux and David Reinbacher complete the top 10 of the best players under the age of 24 in the organization, according to TSN.
“It’s abundance,” said TSN recruiting director and former NHL general manager Craig Button. This is a good reason to be patient with the reconstruction.”
With Macklin Celebrini leading the way, the Sharks come in second in the standings. With Connor Bedard, he is the only player to obtain an AAA rating in the list.
The Tampa Bay Lightning is the team that comes in at 32nd and last place in the rankings while the two best players under the age of 24 obtain a B rating.
