Moto2 – Jake Dixon confident but cautious before Assen

Moto2 will return to the track this weekend after three weeks of absence during the Dutch Grand Prix. Last year, the event favored Jake Dixon who won his first victory in the category. Despite a recent resurgence in form, the Briton prefers not to set too ambitious goals.

Team Aspar driver Jake Dixon broke away from a series of complicated races in Catalonia, taking his first podium of the season. A feat that he will try to repeat in the Netherlands, on the occasion of the eighth meeting of the season which is being held on the legendary Assen circuit.

To do this, the Briton will be able to count on the confidence provided by the results of the previous edition. Dixon indeed has an indelible memory of the 2023 edition of the race, since the latter saw him win his first victory in Moto2.

However, this is not the only time where the latter has shone at Assen, since in 2019, he scored his first points in the world championship, while in 2022, his appearance on the podium was the start of a series of three consecutive achievements.

Statistics which, however, do not impress the main person concerned when he talks about this weekend’s race. “We are back competing in a special place, where a year ago to the day I took my first victory in the Moto2 world championship.

Now is not the time to look back,
he continues. It’s time to continue working hard, because in Barcelona we show that we can continue to shine, and this weekend we will try again. »

It remains to be seen whether the race in Assen will allow Jake Dixon to position himself once again in the fight for victory, to which the main contenders are called Sergio Garcia, Joe Roberts and Ai Ogura, to whom the Grand Prix of the Countries -Bas usually does well too.
