Marcel Desailly, 1998 world champion, is officially the father of Victoria, a 10-year-old girl. Last March, the courts ordered him to carry out a paternity test to establish whether he was the biological father of the child. The results, which have just been published, confirm paternity with a probability of 99.99999%, according to biologists.
Victoria was born in March 2014 from the relationship that Marcel Desailly had with Cosma, a Brazilian woman he knew for several years. Although Desailly was married at the time to his first wife and the father of four children, he lived with Cosma in Paris. Victoria grew up calling Marcel Desailly “daddy”, as confirmed by several testimonies. However, upon his return to Paris after his birth, Desailly did not officially acknowledge the child, although, according to Cosma, he never denied his paternity in private.

The relationship between Desailly and Cosma has not been without tumult, with accusations of domestic violence in 2013, one of which was filed. A hearing is scheduled for December 10 to rule on the official recognition of paternity, and Cosma is demanding alimony of 5,000 euros per month, as well as the possibility that Victoria bears the name Desailly.
This is not the first time that Desailly has been faced with a paternity recognition situation. In 2014, he was named as the father of another child, Aïda, after refusing to submit to a DNA test.
