Despite a mixed F1 2024 season, Pierre Gasly shines in a very particular area at the wheel of his car. Good news for Alpine, which can at least boast of having made savings this year.
On several occasions this season, Pierre Gasly has openly destroyed Alpine. It must be said that the team did not help its 2 French drivers. Respectively 12th and 14th in the F1 driver rankings, Gasly and Ocon nevertheless managed to defy all predictions during the Brazilian GP.
Alpine’s double podium delighted Flavio Briatore as well as all the managers of the French team. By finishing 2nd and 3rd, Ocon and Gasly allowed Alpine to return to the race for 6th place in the F1 2024 constructors’ standings.
Enough to dream of a nice financial jackpot at the end of the season. Whatever happens, Pierre Gasly will have made significant savings for Alpine. The French driver has just broken an exceptional record, which says a lot about his way of driving.
0 damage: Alpine can thank Pierre Gasly!
No damage, not even a simple scratch. As the Formula 1 season draws to a close, Pierre Gasly is standing out with impressive statistics. The Alpine driver did not suffer a single damage at the wheel of his car during the entire year of 2024.
Gasly has yet been at the start of 20 Grands Prix, regularly struggling in the soft underbelly of the race, and often being surrounded by other drivers. No dollars were therefore spent on potential damage caused by the conduct of Pierre Gasly.
Enough to highlight 1 thing. The Alpine driver doesn’t offer the most aggressive driving among the F1 paddock. A strategy which has not always paid off during this season. But which allowed his team to make some savings.
While the F1 season is still being played out on several fronts, Pierre Gasly will be faced with a dilemma. His team is currently 6th in the constructors’ standings. As a reminder, finishing in this place would offer a nice bonus of €30M to Alpine. Enough to motivate Gasly to go all out during the last 3 GPs. To the point of damaging his car?
