Following the success of Dendermonde in Liège, Soignies won at home against Kituro as part of the 6th day in D1 and isolated themselves at the top of the table with the DRC. La Hulpe for its part beat Coq Mosan and repositioned itself in the good peloton.
Soignies therefore won the weekend’s poster in D1 against Kituro. A success forged in the first period. The Carriers got off to a good start and led 10-0 shortly after the quarter hour following a try from Curtis Moucheron and a penalty from Matthéo Van Holsbeke. They then insisted via a new penalty and a try from Henri Dequenne shortly before the break (18-0).
The Kituro would become more pressing in the second half with big highlights, including 10 minutes spent in front of the 5 meters of Sonegiens who stood back but received three yellow cards in twenty minutes. The Schaerbeek phalanx was finally rewarded on the hour mark with a try from Seddik Habmellouk (18-7).
The Hennuyer Greens were reassured ten minutes later, Valéry Dulieu flattening in the visiting goal (23-7). Kituro responded three minutes later, in a corner via Timothée Devos, but Soignies then held on for a 23-14 victory, without leaving a defensive bonus for third in the standings.
La Hulpe took the opportunity to come back to within a small point of Kituro after defeating Coq Mosan at the Stade du Brazil. Maxime Couchard nevertheless scored the first try of the game in the 4th minute of play (0-7), but the response was not long in coming with Gaspard Lens’ try after 10 minutes (7-7). La Hulpe then doubled the lead shortly before the half-hour mark, through Martin Vancanneyt (14-7). Le Coq did not benefit from a penalty in the 31st minute and found themselves reduced to 14 just before half-time.
The La Hulpois continued in the second half. First on a penalty from Antoine Vassart, then a try from Loukman Omourou on the hour mark (22-7). In the tough, Le Coq held on while La Hulpe pushed to get the offensive bonus. In the wake of a slightly too virile explanation and a yellow card from both sides, the match ended with a score of 22-7.
The Boitsfort-ASUB and ROC-Frameries meetings had as a reminder been postponed to December 1st.
