Thomas Voeckler remains manager of the team. At the head of the French cycling team since 2019, the former professional rider (2000-2017) whose contract was expiring has chosen to remain in post next season despite numerous requests from high-profile teams.

Rwanda and the European Championships in the lead

“I weighed the pros and cons. Yes, I have had requests. Without dwelling on the whys and wherefores or the contractual terms, I am fully fulfilled in my functions, I am convinced that there are still great things to achieve, challenges to take on. From there, I remain in the same professional framework”, explains the Vendéen (45 years old) referring in particular to “the 2025 world championships in Rwanda (September 25) and the European championships (from October 1 to 5 on the lands of Drôme and Ardèche). I already have my head turned towards these goals.”

A remarkable record

Since taking over as manager of the France team in 2019 (he took over from Cyrille Guimard), Thomas Voeckler has allowed the Blues to win 12 medals including Julian Alaphilippe's two world champion titles ( 2020-2021), the title of European champion of Christophe Laporte (2023) and the silver and bronze medals of Valentin Madouas and Christophe Laporte, last summer, at the Olympic Games.

Note that Thomas Voeckler will also continue his consulting activities for France Télévisions.
